Re: Mind's Eye Search for meaning

I totally agree. The reasons for life is to experience. The meaning of life is what we learn from that experience.

To me understanding the source of life and the realization of the inexorability of Fate and Destiny is meaning enough. Re: Mind's Eye Search for meaning

If there is something to gain from acknowledging death and loss in
general it seems to be that it can encourage one to reevaluate the sense
of possession and emotional obsessions that might prevent a more
encompassing view. It may sound strange that accepting my limitations
from the outside, that nothing has come by choice and little of my (the)
self will likely survive death, but the sum of what built up this
selfhood and all the integrations add up to the sum of what can be
called my spiritual and existential struggle. They are different aspects
of the same, knowing this has provided a bit of peace and greater
mobility. I like Allan's take on many paths, as it has renewed under
this light- a sense of duty came as by choice informed by knowledge and
driven by passion, at the same time I've been built to it by nature.
Doesn't really answer any questions like meaning, or end the struggle
for understanding, or resolve any debate but it gives me a better sense
of direction.

That last one was a related but premature and incomplete post, I somehow
completely overlooked making the point. :)

Re: Mind's Eye Search for meaning

From what I've gathered the most defining characteristic of humanity is
leadership, as I learn more about various areas it becomes that much
more evident that this unites the lower/higher and simple/complex with
much variety. Not sure what to do with it yet.
