Taylor Jackson’s Fashionable Fairy Tale Photos Posted: 07 Dec 2010 06:39 AM PST Taylor Jackson is a student with a love of photography and photo manipulation. Her images are meant to have a story behind them and combine aspects of fashion and surrealism. "Fairytales are often a huge inspiration in my work because you can take an idea anywhere," she says. This is the first shot in a Rapunzel mini-series of photos. It was meant to look historic, beautiful and a little surreal. Her hair in part real, part photoshopped, and the photo was shot at a place called Eaton Hall, which is said to be haunted. This picture was meant to be sneaky and fun. Rapunzel couldn't have been locked in a tower forever so I wanted to show her out on the grounds having a great time. The location also reminded me of Taylor Swift's music video for Love Story and so I titled this photo in her honour. "Today was a Fairytale." My inspiration for this shot came from a combination of things. First was dreamcatchers and the concept of the catching bad dreams, and then I wanted to bring in some "Fairy Dust" to make the image a little more magical. I wanted a little more artistic feel in this image. I set up the camera behind a hanging dreamcatcher but focused on the models eyes to blur out the foreground. At first I wasn't sure that I liked it but it really grew on me and I now it is one of my favourite shots.
