Living life for duty is character even if it is hard for you , you may go astray for a while but coming back in time before harm is done is character. Beauty of form or mind is inferior to adherence to duty and that is character. If people were to understand this there wouldn't be so many divorces and so much crime. But sometimes people take an extreme meaning of duty , an ugly view, and terrorism and oppression results. So it is essential that duty be correctly understood and then adhered to. Basically it is the humanitarian mindset that has to be achieved so as to understand duty in the correct sense.
