I think the images of God are so distorted today doing away with God might be reasonable. It seems many people only want God to be their personal servant at their beck and call filling their desire.
I don't understand the spirituality they are promoting.

It is enough if we happily play our role as an energy node that, with patience and perseverance, can make good things happen. That is, more or less.
One of the primary "good" thing is raise oneself and one's family well, aware of their power to choose and persist.
