Have to like your attitude to these 'chings' mate.  I'm wandering around being ill at the moment (sick and diarrhoea) and cleaning up after myself.  Too unpleasant to discuss, though oddly not feeling ill.  Have requisite meds and am eating well.  Zak a bit poorly too, but has perked up after the remains of the weekend ham, shared with Max and El Catto.  Down to my old playing weight, which makes me wonder where all the muscle went - so much easier to lose than put on it seems.  Will have a real go at losing another stone of fat.  Trousers don't fit and another two notches needed in belt.

My long view is we need another material reality first.  I've never been marxist other than in method (called social epistemology these days) - thinking the guy racist and the conclusion of some pretty vile German thinking that concludes in Freud and Heidegger.  The crux for me is that we have a world that needs an economy and instead have economics as war by other means.  One might, for instance, think a couple of old lumps like us would just get in the way in Nepal, but we could surely help with the quartermastering - and think on from this statement to what our unemployed young could be doing and learning.  We should be looking to such rather than GDP figures and the pathetic and skewed 'news' in front of us.  I was just chatting to Rigsy for half-an-hour with the television on and the flow of crud from the television and some stupid Skype prostitution ads (Microsoft's new revenue line?) was dire.  Leadership and how to get rid of it in our lives seems the problem to me.  There is 'another well'.

Yeah. Gotta have a little Ka-ching to survive in this world. A lot of Ka-ching is preferable. I'll take water over Ka-ching but definately take Ka-ching over spiritual nourishment. I can buy plenty of that with lots of Ka-ching. IfyouknowwhatImean.

THE WELL
Return to the well of goodness.

No community can survive without a dependable source of pure water. In a similar way, human beings cannot survive without a reliable source of spiritual nourishment. In fact, we need two wells: an external source of guidance, such as the I Ching, and an internal source of guidance, which must be our own good character. This hexagram comes to encourage you to concentrate on developing, purifying, and utilizing your two "wells."

Notice the name of this hexagram: "Ching/The Well." The I Ching has survived in countless civilizations for thousands of years for a simple reason: it is an inexhaustible source of spiritual nourishment. It provides us with the fundamental building blocks of a successful life. If you approach it sincerely, without mistrust or frivolity, it will guide you through every difficult hour with unimpeachable wisdom. If you muddy the well, however, by doubting the I Ching or by placing your ego desires above the counsel it gives you, you impede your own progress.

The purest of external wells, the I Ching is also an invaluable aid in developing and cleansing the internal well of your own good character. It will, if you are sincere, reveal to you the fundamental issues of your life, and it will instill in you the values necessary to successfully negotiate those issues.

The hexagram Ching comes to encourage you not to muddy the well of your good character in any way now. In relating to others, look beyond any external faults of "muddiness" and acknowledge the clear well that exists somewhere inside them. No person is without this, and by speaking to it you strengthen it. If you will follow these counsels, you will meet with a true and lasting success in life.

FIRST LINE
If you throw away proper principles, the well is muddied and no one can be nourished. Be patient with others and concentrate on correct behavior.

A shaman thought: To be angry at people means that one considers their acts important. It is imparitive to cease to feel that way. The acts of men cannot be important  enough  ot offset our only viable alternative: our unchangeable encounter with infinity.

Re: Mind's Eye Wells

Dogs walked, me exhausted but intact.  This inner well (whatever we call it) is important.  There's a sort of i ching in economics - in questions like 'there is no such thing as a free lunch - discuss'.

I do feel a bit like I'm doing the two-step - though also had the dancing disability (odd given I was quick on my feet).  Grandson has walked dogs.

My guess on the different material reality.is it would need quite heavy 'policing' in the first place.  The key issue is the move from oligarchy without lapse to other forms of misrule.  One can think of what would happen on the collapse of the current US military umbrella to get some ideas on the problems.  We shy away from what societies that put women in black bags would do and the extent already that our morality hangs on being able to send the boys round.  Currently we:
1. avoid discussion of real problems
2. are daunted by what such discussion leads to
3. fiddle while Rome burns in unreal scholastic traps like economics as though power doesn't matter
4. speak in ideological riddles

I believe most of us actually aren't switched on genetically for different material living.

I do agree we need a different material  reality..  (my mind just seemed to light up) .  Wonder what a different material reality could be? A totally different perspective..
