Re: Mind's Eye Brexit

it is interesting that is for sure..
Oddly England and Wales voted to Exit.. Scotland had a lower turn out than expected but voted to remain in the EU..  they have started the official paperwork to become offically part of the EU.. They said the would if England ever left the EU..
What has surprised me is Northern Ireland voted to stay.. Actually it could be an easy path because they could easily become part of Ireland  once again making the island just one nation..  and The only national record they have is being part of England.. unlike Scotland which has been its own nation all along..
Was listening to the news..  the 6 original countries BeNeLux, Germany, France and Italy now want the seperation as soon as possible..

It is going to be interesting times. They are working on the inter country travel agreement.. you can travel freely between countries right now no paperwork required..  in the new agreement you will have to show your country of origin which is no problem because I have my Dutch paperwork..  but what will change is no paperwork you will no longer be able to freely travel between countries..
What I keep laughing about the refugees that want to go to England ..  we can give them a ticket and send them on their way  once there they will be England's problem..
Good to see minds eye is still working..

Avoid doing harm

Re: Mind's Eye Brexit

In my earlier comments I focused on the populist immigrant issue. There is also, more importantly, the economic issue. No doubt in the short run things will be difficult for England. However, as one poster commented in the WSJ "Coupling one's future prospects, let along your national identity, to a system that has kicked the can full of Greek, Italian and Spanish bankruptcy down to road is more than pragmatic.    It is more like averting a gruesome and fatal disease." I'm an open trade, open borders guy generally but the decision to let Greece get away with lying their way into the EU set an extremely bad example and I totally get why Briton wants out. Ireland and Scotland will decide their own fate but I, for one, stand with England on this one. Good show Old Chaps. Good show. 24 June, Independance Day.

Surprised me. Didn't think they had the guts. May have been the chastisement from the American President about "the back of the queue" that put them over the edge to get the votes they needed.  His little pep talks seem always to have the opposite effect than the one he purports to want. Gun manufacturers LOVE IT when he talks about gun control. Sales go thru the roof. Will be interesting to see how Germany and France react in the coming weeks. Or maybe they'll push for more autonomy in regards border control to get England back. Interesting times; interesting times.

On a domestic note I want more LEGAL immigration to the USA. Make it easier and cheaper. Allow for sponsoring from businesses and even individuals willing to take on responsibility. I've no doubt the vast majority of folks looking to come here are decent upright people looking for a better life. We make it harder for these people to make here so we get more of the other kind. Mostly young radicalized males. The evidence is overwhelming. What will it take? Why do Catholics and Jews still vote Democrat? Oh wait, never mind. With Trump as the other choice i totally get it. Guess I'm voting Libertarian again.
