Re: [Mind's Eye] Re: Neil...

Vam could you expand for me how you see people having spirit and soul?

Pat's posts contrast very aptly
with those by Neil, Gabby !

Seems Neil has gone in a shell...
but I should underscore...

that, I have immense respect
and regard for Neil, the person.

that, Neil has very close and varied
experiences with life on the ground
       and has great critical insights
into workings of the world about us.

that, he has a dream
on behalf of all of us
- of simplicity, fairness,
 beauty and happiness...

but he keeps talking of science
and missing the fact that it is...
the people who are making it
or breaking it all the time !

Now talking about people is not easy...
for we have to talk about ourselves -
the subjective - with the same objectivity
that is easily applied
on matters of science
but not on people... coz they have
content that cannot be counted,
weight that cannot be measured,
power that is not consistent,
and processes that are invisible.

People have spirit and a soul,
emotions and will,
thoughts and ideas,
notions and knowledge,
and a being that is a trillion diverse,
now evident on the social media.

It's that content we need to address,
even as it is on a trajectory coming
form the old, ancient past, with its
religions, traditions and beliefs ---
pervading the present modernity,
society, politics, economics and
governance that we are seized with
... ... ...

We can dismiss these but not w/out
putting our dreams for future
in peril.
