Mind's Eye Re: Common sense solutions

One could reflect on the impact calligraphy had on Steve Jobs perhaps-
yet the new technology will eventually turn most into typers, won't
it? I think handwriting began its decline with the ball point pen and
absence of an expressive nib. My penmanship class started in third or
fourth grade in the days of bladder pens and a near sport of avoiding
ink mishaps. I continued using ink for a long time- even used sealing
wax- but I do think the days are numbered. I can't compose on a
typewriter or computer- it must be some old pathway between
imagination- brain/compostiion- and hand---like playing music-
artwork- needlearts- cooking, etc. the hand becomes the perfect tool
of expression.//Remembering a studio course one summer and an old
female nude was thrust upon the class to sketch which so surprised me
I spilled my India ink on my dress and two male students lifted me up
under the arms and carried me to the sink in the back of the
classroom, lifted my skirt and washed it out but forget how I managed
the rest of the morning in a wet dress!// The pen is related to the
chisel.//Anyway, I tickle a neighbor's funny bone and she keeps urging
me to write my quips down in longhand which will not happen though I
do marvel at all that has been set down in writing/notation over the
centuries and poor Sophie Tolstoy with all her children in somewhat
enforced labor to smooth Leo's prose. Let's face it- formality of any
sort is doomed.
