Re: Mind's Eye New Google Groups is Dumb, but this not the subject

During my 'adult' spiritual development,,  very much with in the church, these papers were never  suggested or provided even though I was deeply involved with the RC church,  There were times that I was in very heavy access to the church living in direct supervision of Bishops. My experiences were well known to them.
Though I shared my experiences with them they only appointed stable older priest for spiritual advisers. .   non of which even suggested any reading only listened .. they provided some "Tests" to determine if I should become a priest,,  everything indicated  should not.. but rather continue on the path I was already on..  I can look back over the evolution since then and I agree.

Spiritually I think some times one needs to be on the out skirts of the major religions, I can not  help but wonder if being locked into dogma prevents spiritual expansion.

Many of the Roman Catholic saints and mystics write about the soul.
My favorite is probably St. John of the Cross, and his dark night of
the soul piece.  Still being studied centuries later.
