I think there is a lot more corruption than we want to face.. I know where there is some low level corruption and my wife tells me to lay low and not get involved and she is right; ; In reality I am a guest here..I do not need trouble.. in the US I probably would cause trouble,,, there I have a much better idea of how to do it. and where my supporet base(s) are.
here I am not quite sure..
how does a person create a (semi) covert database for track these corrupt people ,, then the other question is where

"We must have some records on the financiers and corrupt politicians but this was always beyond my pay grade. " Yep, linking the "we" to "my pay grade" sounds natural in this context here. Just like throwing your hat in the ring to become Mod God here. I worry more about journalists having to turn corrupt than science or police people.
The bible on white collar crime was written by Sutherland in 1940. The high level con is that financial services make money. I did surveillance and undercover handling - the first lesson was that it was very expensive, the second that it rarely produced value for money (one conviction for five or six operations) and the third you couldn't get warrants to follow money. We must have some records on the financiers and corrupt politicians but this was always beyond my pay grade. The vast majority of the techniques I did get to see left me in no doubt we could turn the focus onto corruption but even tracking ordinary criminal money they were denied to us. The criminality in finance is very obvious. The first claim that money can make money is almost the claim it will breed of you leave it in a shoe-box. It seems equally obvious that giving up making things and not collecting tax is as dumb-as.None of our old industrial cities has recovered - the whole of Wales (about 4 million people) became a public sector adjunct. You don't need hindsight. There were warnings long before Reagan-Thatcher. Even now we are hoping for recovery and there is little talk that what has happened is very like the way we once tried to subsidise our old industries. I'm pretty sure many of our municipalities and banks are broke and pretending to be going concerns. London is trying to get Euro-Remnimbi business much as it did with the Euro-Dollar trade in the 50's - so I think the City is broke.--
