The point I was trying to make was, whatever decision you take/make, you will be able to declare it was a good decision and give reasons for it. Even for volunteering policemen, which would cost me most energy since that option ranks very low on my personal moral scale. Whereas keeping the money and making a large bonfire would rank very high there. Anyways, at the very moment you have to decide, all you can decide upon is, will I be able to continue my personal success story, because you will never know what will really happen. Morals are bound to success in that way. That's a highly problematic view and leads to what dj caricaturizes as the most reliable learning pill.

It depends what the hackers do with what they steal from the criminal. If they return the stolen goods to the victims, then they are like robin hoods. I would rate them high morally. If they return the stolen goods to the police, they are like volunteer policemen. If they keep the money, then they are criminals. I would give them low moral points.
