the "great wall of China"
> b/f the "Middle Kingdom", "China" was a collection of many nation-states (sort of an Europe in Asia)
> with the first emperor, so the wall was built & and continued by successive dynasties with various "wall passion"
> the rulers of the Middle Kingdom literally called it "ten thousand mile long wall" (simply a physical wall)
> the "wall motive" was to "keep the Northern barbarians out" & to protect the empire...
> WELL, the great WALL did not "perform" its intended objectives, even with more wall-building efforts
=> the Mongolian laughed at the "civilized residents in the wall": b/c it's the people be the best "wall" for it - NOT a wall
=> EVENTUALLY, the Middle Kingdom were ruled by Mongolians(Genghis Khan heirs), Manchu(the Ching dynasty)
=> followed by the "century of humiliation" or "sick man of Asia"
> then the current so-called Communist Party dynasty:
the great "firewall" of Communist Party dynasty of China
well, this wall is more abstract, but can be clearly understood as many things, for exam-ples:
> the obvious one: keep out "undesirable info out of China" or "detrimental to national security" (the Communist dynasty) …
> "residency status": people in China cannot freely move from one place to other (without losing some essential benefits)
> make your own list (the BALANCE principle: even "impressive gains" in China come with equally "expensive prices")
> hints: psychology of "instant & delayed gratifications" - creativity can only flourish in a free society...
=> IF the foundation is wrong (or NO foundation at all), then everything eventually follows (taking generations to change)
=> same abstract pattern repeats = fya? & fyi! (!i ram betch of-eze-nu novel?)
