Turiya-state is the one in which all the senses close down and there is awareness of bliss and nothing else. It can be achieved naturally through concentration, but also through the use of some narcotics. It is just a state of the organism like the other states. You do not come back if you really realize the Self .

That state in which the self is known subjectively within oneself is the turiya-state of the organism , just like the sleep-state, the dream-state, the awake-state and the coma-state. Turiya-state can be achieved through the use of some drugs as well.

The Self is above all states and is known to be without attributes, once a soul attains to him he does not comes back to the lower self.
