Mind's Eye Guru and pupil

Once a pupil asked his guru, " Sir, you say that everything is done by God then what do I do?"
The guru said," Son you are a part of God just as your hand is your part. You use your hand and God uses you, just as your hand is necessary for you, you are necessary for God. Without the agent or medium action cannot be done. You do everything and yet nothing because you are constrained by your abilities and limitations. You are born of mud and go to mud but the 'I' in you comes back to me."
