China gave up its maritime adventures- maybe in the Middle Ages. And
you certainly know of all the early inventions plus the East had what
was wanted by the West- mainly spices to preserve food that was prone
to maggots but also many other products and luxuries. And the Arabs
kept science and the arts alive in the Dark Ages of Europe. However,
the main arugument with your statement is that it smacks of us vs.
them or the usual "isms" that have promoted centuries of hate,
suspicion and warfare within the human race- not to mention the price
paid by the poor animals, the oceans, the air, etc. The USA makes junk
also and its business/foreign policies are just as tricky and
dishonest as any other because of hubris and jingoism. As for culture,
well that's another story.
