Re: Mind's Eye Re: Wuhan

I hear you , Don. My husband and I went out for a spectacular wedding anniversary dinner the evening before the restaurants were closed. Didn't see it coming, so felt our timing was good! It could just be our blinders were working. I feel like I am working from home on the front lines, spending half my days on the phone or online conference, the other half writing bulletins or scanning the internet for anything related to the center. There is so much misinformation that can't be addressed directly because of the trolls and ne'er-do-wells. Life is interesting. Not always comfortable.

Yes, that is it. Looks like he quit it 4 years ago. I'm back at work today. Tape on the floor and lots of cleaning supplies at the hand. I fear the coming social unrest and economic misery far, far more then the Chi-Com virus. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself. Fear that causes us to shoot ourselves in our own feet. For the greater good you understand. I am going to my favorite restaurant THE FIRST DAY they open back up. Take out sucks.

I quit Facebook. Little ginger dude creeped me out too much. I know, I know. Like Google is better. Fran quit his blog at least a couple years ago I think. I think he went for an advanced degree or some such.

I will be very, very happy when the tests that check for antibodies is widely available. THATS the key for getting everyone back to work. Be safe.

Good to see the conversation again. Glad to hear your are all well (as can be expected.) I didn't know Francis had a blog, Don but would love to follow it if he does. His writing is a fascination for me.

Very glad to see you are back in this space too, Vam and Allan and RP. Really interesting to hear first hand how this pandemic is unfolding around the globe. It eases my heart to know you are OK. I see posts from Francis on Facebook so I know he is alive and well and appreciating the sunrise from time to time.

Things are busy for me the  D where the center is being converted into a field hospital for hospital overflow. I do my work from home on phone and online. I worry about my team mates on site. We should begin to get patients transferred next week and the construction now is fast and furious (like the press corp.) We have a wonderful governor working night and day, standing up to the misogynist pres as he continues to take all credit and botch all efforts. A real mystery. I talk to the new york center when I can to get tips as they began their center's conversion a few weeks before ours. Their governor is strong too and pulling out all the stops. It seems this all needed to start in January with a unified effort but didn't. Such is life.

My boys and grand kids are all fine and that is a real blessing. From afar, I witness the tragedy daily. Our police chief is in quarantine at home having tested positive, as are other co workers of mine across the country. By all reports, it is a vicious illness and my heart goes out to them and all care takers. I'm wondering if doctors and nurses won't be compelled into hospital service when things get worse.

Not many posts here recently. Seeing all those red dots on the other side of the world had me thinking about the few people I know live there. Now those red dots are all over my country. I wouldn't go so far as to call it mass hysteria but something worse then methodical preparation is happing. We may not contain anything but we are damned sure set on destroying the economy. Mighty unpolite of the Chi-coms to release this disease without even the common curtesy of formulating a vaccine first. I certainly hope everyone is ok. I have my freezer stocked and plenty of dry goods I could stay quarantined for a month no problem. May run out of TP though.
